I've been working on two standing male figures this quarter. Here is the second one. He's got a long way to go, but finally got traction after a rough start. Unfortunately, we only have two weeks left with the model!
It's nice Alecia. The lighting is flat so it's hard to appreciate all the details. Is he short? If that is the case, I am not sure that the neck needs to be lengthened by a lot.
ps: His neck is quite thick in relation to his shoulder's width. As an alternative, you could try thinning his neck a little. In any case, try not to loose his uniqueness in the pursuit of that "perfect standard". Hope this helps.
I'm a figurative sculptor from Seattle. While earning a BFA at Scripps College, I studied with Aldo Casanova in Claremont, CA as well as Romano Luccachini in Florence, Italy. My MFA comes from the New York academy of Art where I studied under Harvey Citron, Randy Melick and Tony Visco among others. Currently, I teach at the Digipen Institute of Technology in Redmond WA.
